Fire in Valleyview home deemed suspicious

No one was injured in the blaze, which was originally thought to be a dryer fire

Investigators believe a fire this week in the basement of a Valleyview home was intentionally set.

Emergency crews were called to 2589 Thompson Dr. at about 11 a.m. on Tuesday for a report of a fire.

No one was injured in the blaze, which was originally thought to be a dryer fire, but investigators have determined it is suspicious in origin.

Kamloops RCMP is now investigating.

Police are asking anyone with information about the blaze to call 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
