Residents of 28 properties have been ordered to evacuate due to the White Rock Lake wildfire burning near Westwold, about 45 kilometres southeast of Kamloops.
Properties affected include 4523 to 5073 on Back Road and 6866 to 7660 on Douglas Lake Road, plus anyone else living within the boundaries of the map provided by the Thompson-Nicola Regional District.
The TNRD says there is currently no commercial lodging available in Kamloops for evacuees, but those staying with friends or family in other areas can still access some emergency support services. To do so, report to the McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre, 1655 Island Pkwy, in Kamloops, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Those who cannot stay with family or friends in the area can report to the Salvation Army building at 1480 Sutherland Ave. in Kelowna.
The TNRD says there is currently no commercial lodging available in the city.
Evacuees can also self-register for emergency social services online at ess.gov.bc.ca.
