The provincial government has again clarified its pandemic-related health orders.
While many group sports and activities are prohibited, certain structured extracurricular activities and programs for those under 19 years of age can continue to operate with a COVID-19 safety plan in place and must be supervised by an adult.
These include dance, music, art and drama classes, educational and recreational programs and outdoor fitness and social activities.
Under the orders, performances, recitals and demonstrations are not allowed.
On Nov. 24, businesses running cheer, dance and other group fitness activities were told they had to close — albeit temporarily — while provincial health officials craft guidelines to curb spread of the novel coronavirus.
On Dec. 3, it appears the orders have been amended to permit the above-mentioned activities for those under the age of 19.
The series of health order announcements in November led to confusion among many as to what was permitted and what was prohibited.
