Heavy police presence in Valleyview connected to drug probe

UPDATE: The police operation took place along the frontage road adjacent to Highway 1. As of 12:15 p.m., the road is open to traffic.

Kamloops Mounties are involved in a drug investigation in Valleyview as of 11 a.m. on Thursday (Jan. 7), with a heavy police presence in the western part of the neighbourhood.

Also at the scene is the emergency response team. Police have not clarified which streets are impacted and KTW has a call in to confirm which area the public should avoid.

Const. Crystal Evelyn said there is no danger to the public, noting traffic may be temporarily rerouted.
