Kamloops fire crews responding to brush fire south of Heffley Creek

UPDATE: As of 2:45 p.m., crews were mopping up at the scene and had the fire under control.

Kamloops Fire Rescue crews were called to a fire north east of the Tolko mill at Heffley Creek early Tuesday afternoon.

Callers told fire dispatch that wind had caused a burning slash pile to get out of control.

KFR crews including an engine and water tender have responded.

Just after 2 p.m. the fire was approximately 40 square meters in size.
