Apparently, only a donation box was taken

A 56-year-old man was arrested early Wednesday morning following a smash-and-grab at a Kamloops business that netted the burglar a donation box.

Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Jodi Shelkie said police received a report of a window being broken at Cobs Bakery in the Summit Shopping Centre, at Columbia Street and Summit Drive in Sahali.

The call came in at 4 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found the front door glass window had been smashed by a rock, with a donation box on the counter the only item apparently missing.

Shelkie said a 56-year-old man was arrested a few blocks from the store. Crown counsel will determine what charges, if any, will be laid.
