Kamloops Mounties at various locations, involved in 'unfolding situation'

Residents in east Kamloops reported a heavy police presence on Thursday morning, but local Mounties are not yet saying much about what is happening in the area, nor whether the situation is related to the increased police presence that has followed the recent murders of two men, believed to be gang-related.

RCMP Cpl. Jodi Shelkie said “an unfolding situation” is playing out “at numerous locations throughout Kamloops.”

According to Shelkie, more information will be made public when it is available.

Shelkie said there is no risk to the public.
