Kamloops Mounties get their man

Kevin James Beattie, wanted on a number of warrants, was arrested during a vehicle stop in North Kamloops on Oct. 30.

Police have arrested a Kamloops man who had several warrants out for his arrest.

On Oct. 27, Kamloops RCMP issued a media release, asking the public for help in finding Kevin James Beattie. On Oct. 30, Beattie was arrested during a vehicle stop on Eighth Street in North Kamloops that was conducted by regular and gang enforcement officers.

Cpl. Melanie Murdy said a search of the vehicle Beattie was in yielded officers a sawed-off shotgun, a scope, several rounds of shotgun ammunition and a digital scale with drug residue on it. 

Charges that result will be decided upon by Crown counsel.

Beattie had been wanted on charges of possessing ammunition while prohibited, possessing a weapon while prohibited, theft under $5,000 and driving while prohibited.
