Kamloops Mounties are investigating another suspicious incident involving minors being approached by an adult in a vehicle, this time in North Kamloops.
Just after 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, a man in a white pickup truck asked a teenaged girl at the North Shore transit exchange if she wanted a ride.
“The teen left the area and phoned a parent. The truck drove away,” RCMP Cpl. Jodi Shelkie told KTW.
Shelkie said the teen had a photo of the vehicle and officers are in the process of attempting to identify it and the driver. A social media post about the incident described the driver as being a white male with black hair.
The day before, June 22, police received word about a man they described as “non-white, approximately 20 years old, with short hair” offering two young girls a ride in the Aberdeen area, which they refused. That vehicle described was a four-door, white car with non-tinted windows.
In such circumstances, police recommend children say no, leave the area, go home (or to a safe place) and tell an adult what happened.
