UPDATE: Kamloops RCMP reported at 7:49 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, that Mataya Giesbrecht has been found and is safe.
Kamloops Mounties are asking for the public’s help in finding a woman reported missing.
Twenty-two-year-old Mataya Giesbrecht was last seen on Friday, June 21, at Royal Inland Hospital. She is white, stands 5-foot-3, weighs 115 pounds and has long, strawberry-blond hair.
Giesbrecht was last seen wearing a green T-shirt, a purple, blue and green hoodie, leggings with stars on them and black shoes.
In the past, she has been known to travel to Vernon and the Lower Mainland by hitchhiking. Giesbrecht may also be traveling with a male friend.
Anybody with information on Giesbrecht’s whereabouts is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
