Kamloops Mounties seeking owner of urn, ashes

In June, police were contacted regarding a wooden urn and what appeared to be a bag of ashes that were turned into a local shelter.

The Kamloops RCMP is looking for the owner of what is believed to be a wooden urn.

In June, police were contacted regarding a wooden urn and what appeared to be a bag of ashes that were turned into a local shelter. The items were reportedly found in a dumpster.

Since then, police have been unable to track down the owners of the items or from where they are missing.

“Police have been unable to determine exactly what the ashes are at this time, but encourage anyone who may know anything about the box’s origins to please contact the Kamloops RCMP,” Const. Crystal Evelyn said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2021-18178.
