Kamloops RCMP seeks help in finding robbery suspects

Both men were dishevelled as they held up a Sahali store on Jan. 2. One of the suspects also had strong body odour.

Kamloops Mounties are asking for the public’s help in identifying two men involved in an armed robbery on the weekend.

On Saturday, Jan. 2, at 6:10 p.m., Const. Crystal Evelyn said, officers were called to a business in the 1200-block of Summit Drive in Sahali, When police arrived, they were told two men had entered the business around 6:05 p.m. The first man was armed with a knife. Evelyn said surveillance video helped officers identify a suspect vehicle -- a grey SUV, which was later found by police and confirmed to be stolen. It was found on the North Shore, with a loaded firearm inside.

During the robbery, both men were wearing masks.

One man was wearing all black clothing except for his pants, which were grey. He was armed with a knife and described as being “shaggy” or dishevelled. The second man was wearing a burnt orange Carhartt jacket and orange face mask, with what appeared to be a grey hoodie under the jacket. He was armed with bear spray and also described as being “shaggy” or dishevelled, with strong body odour.

Anybody with information in the robbery and the suspects is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
