A Kamloops woman with deep roots in the volunteer community is featured in a Tim Hortons commercial that is airing nationally.

The commercial, one in a series of inspirational commercials featuring Canadians, is called Tour de Tims: A Tims True Story.

Wilkinson volunteers in myriad Kamloops events, including being part of the Rotary RIbfest committee

In 2017, Wilkinson was one of five people to receive the City of Kamloops Distinguished Service Award. Volunteers were nominated by fellow community members for the time and effort they have put into improving the community.

The award has been given out annually since 2008. It is awarded in three categories -- youth, young adult and adult. To qualify for the award, nominees must demonstrate a commitment to a variety of endeavours that lead to the growth and development of Kamloops.
