Large power outage leaves thousands in the dark

A significant power outage left thousands of BC Hydro customers without electricity on Thursday morning.

Power was knocked out to a large portion of the North Shore and much of the West End, Guerin Creek and the Thompson Rivers University area just after 8 p.m. It was mostly restored by 9:30 a.m., according to BC Hydro.

Nearly 5,000 customers were impacted.

No cause was listed for the outages.
