A stabbing in Kamloops has left one man dead and landed another man in custody.
The homicide occurred on Saturday, Aug 1, after police were called to a home on Clarke Street in the West End, just west of downtown, at 10:30 a.m.
Staff Sgt. Simon Pillay said police received a 911 call that led them to a residence on the street that runs off First Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers found a 39-year-old male with stab wounds. He was taken to nearby Royal Inland Hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries.
Nearly four hours later, at 2 p.m., police arrested a 37-year-old male in connection with the stabbing death.
"There is currently very little information that can be provided to the public at this time; however, based on our current understanding of this incident, there is no danger to the public,” Pillay said, noting the man arrested and the stabbing victim were known to each other.”
