More restrictions to gym use in City of Kamloops facilities

Pandemic-related health orders means no unscheduled visits, masks worn all the time, even while exercising, and more.

New pandemic-related public health orders mean changes in the gyms at the Tournament Capital Centre and Westsyde Pool and Fitness Centre.

Until at least April 19, fewer people will be allowed in each workout space, equipment will be moved farther apart, all visits must be scheduled (no drop-ins allowed) and masks will also be mandatory at all times, including during exercise. In addition, lockers and showers will no longer be accessible.

There are no changes to activities in the pools.

Pre-registration will be available through the city’s online booking system under the “drop-in” tab.

The City of Kamloops is setting up a registration process for time slots of one hour and 15 minutes, with 15 minutes in between each booking for clearing and cleaning.

Both facilities are closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday. As of Saturday, April 3, all visits to the gyms at the TCC and Westsyde Pool and Fitness Centre must be scheduled in advance.
