Kamloops RCMP say there were another 63 thefts from vehicles in the city last week.
This follows a 10-week-long high of 68 thefts from Sept. 2 to Sept. 8.
The Kamloops RCMP’s weekly report to media on thefts from vehicles includes maps that show where thefts occurred.
Thefts not appearing on this week’s maps include three in rural areas and one in Campbell Creek.
On average, 50 thefts from vehicles are reported each week to Kamloops RCMP.
“These maps are not just a reminder to motorists to lock their vehicles, but also to all citizens, to remind them that if they see suspicious behaviour in their neighbourhood, to call the police,” Cpl. Jodi Shelkie said, when announcing the mapping project.
Mounties have been reporting theft from vehicle statistics to media since July.
