No injuries after bus crashes in downtown Kamloops

Two parked vehicles were struck and a utility box was damaged in the crash, which led to a response by Kamloops Fire Rescue and paramedics.

No injuries were reported after a BC Transit bus crashed into parked cars while travelling on Columbia Street in Kamloops on Monday morning (Feb. 22).

The crash occurred at 7:23 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Columbia Street at Fourth Avenue, closing the road until about 9:30 a.m.

Two parked vehicles were struck and a utility box was damaged in the crash, which led to a response by Kamloops Fire Rescue and paramedics.

The bus, travelling westbound up Columbia Street, came to rest overtop the sidewalk and bushes, striking vehicles in the Travelodge parking lot just past the Columbia/Fourth intersection.

Kamloops RCMP Const. Crystal Evelyn said the cause of the collision is under investigation.
