From April 26 to May 2, Kamloops RCMP say there were 25 thefts from motor vehicles in the city and four thefts of bicycles.
That figure is down from 34 thefts from vehicles the week prior.
Police advise people ensure their vehicles are kept locked and valuables out of plain sight — preferably in the trunk of the car — to help prevent this crime of opportunity.
Items commonly stolen from vehicles include smartphones, wallets, tools, garage door openers, sunglasses, keys, documents, car accessories, cash or change and personal electronics such as laptops, tablets and GPS systems.
If you see suspicious behaviour in your neighbourhood, contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
