Staff Sgt. Mat Van Laer said officers cordoned off traffic in the area as they investigated.

He said that while no there has been no evidence found of anyone being shot, two males were taken into custody for questioning as the probe continues.

”With public and police safety in mind, we always treat those calls as legitimate and respond accordingly" Van Laer said as he explained why Mounties with body armour and heavy weapons were seen in the neighbourhood.

Van Laer said there is no reason for area residents to fear for their safety.
