Parkcrest students will finish year at George Hilliard elementary

Kamloops-Thompson school board will move Parkcrest kids to Hilliard, which now houses students in TREC and 4 Directions. TREC students will move to NorKam, 4 Directions students will move to Happyvale and Happyvale's science centre will be relocated

Students of Parkcrest elementary displaced by last week’s fire that destroyed the Brocklehurst school will be moved to nearby George Hilliard elementary, at 985 Holt St., which now houses the Twin Rivers Education Centre and the  4 Directions School.

TREC students will be moving to NorKam senior secondary — across from McArthur Island —  where eight portables will be added to help accommodate the students, while 4 Directions students will move to the former Happyvale elementary at 655 Holt St., which is now home to the Big Little Science Centre.

The science centre will relocate to a yet to be determined location.

The decision was announced on Sunday by Kamloops-Thompson school district superintendent Alison Sidow.

All the student relocation is set to be done in time for the changes to take effect on Monday, Sept. 16.
