Police looking for gun-flashing suspect in alleged store theft

Kamloops RCMP are looking for a man who made off with merchandise stolen from Walmart last week.

Cst. Crystal Evelyn said police received a report of a theft in progress on Hillside Drive, shortly after 8 p.m. on Jan. 7. The man left the store through an emergency exit with unpaid merchandise and, when staff attempted to stop the man, he flashed what appeared to be a firearm. Evelyn said police responded with a dog service unit and detained three suspects, none of whom fit the description.
