Kamloops Mounties are trying to track down the suspect who robbed a Sahali-area bank at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon (Feb. 16).
At about 2:35 p.m., Kamloops RCMP officers responded to a robbery involving a firearm at a bank in the 1200-block of Summit Drive. Photos released by police appear to show the suspect entering the Canadian Western Bank at 1211 Summit Drive across the street from the Columbia Place Shopping Centre.
According to the report, a man in his 40s or 50s, approached a teller, demanded money, and brandished a handgun.
“With money in his hands, the man fled westbound on foot,” Const. Crystal Evelyn said in a police press release.
Multiple officers responded to the area, including the police dog services team, but a suspect was not located.
The suspect is described as a middle-aged male with fair skin, weighing approximately 190 pounds. He was wearing a black touque, blue jeans, brown shoes, a navy blue COVID mask, and a three-quarter length faded dark jacket.
