An infant was found uninjured in the vehicle, but the baby’s mother, who was driving, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene, RCMP spokesperson Mike Halskov told KTW.

The baby is currently in the care of family, he said.

Halskov said its believed the woman was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Police are not ruling out impairment and lack of seatbelt use as contributing factors to this collision.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing and being handled by Central Interior Traffic Services in Kamloops.
