“He jumped over the counter and had the employee open the cash register,” RCMP Cpl. Jodi Shelkie said in a press release. “He took money from the register and left the store in the 300 block of St. Paul Street and headed west.”

The clerk was not injured in the incident.

Kamloops RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the male suspect who had his face covered during the robbery.

The suspect is described as roughly 5-foot-10-inches tall, about 150 pounds and dark-coloured skin.

He was wearing a blue baseball cap with an orange brim, a black bandana over his mouth and nose, and a light blue hoody with black sleeves and large DC logo on the front. The suspect was also wearing black sweat pants and blue and black gloves.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 to leave an anonymous tip.
