The investigation continues into a suspicious fire on Friday, June 19, at a downtown business in the 800-block of Seymour Street.
Firefighters arrived at about 3 a.m. on that morning to extinguish the blaze at 821 Seymour St. — home to Social Butterflies Activities and Learning — and a fire inspector was dispatched to the scene later in the morning.
KFR Platoon Capt. Troy Grant said the fire, which was small and found burning against the side of the building, was deemed suspicious in nature.
The blaze was nearly out when firefighters arrived.
“[It was] just smouldering and small flame by the time the fire department got there,” Grant said, noting there were no reported injuries.
