B.C. has another 45 new cases of COVID-19, including 19 in Interior Health, the province reported on Friday (July 9).
The 19 is the highest among all health authorities.
Elsewhere in the province there were 14 new cases reported in Vancouver Coastal Health, eight in Fraser Health, four in Island Health and none in Northern Health.
There are currently 661 active cases of COVID-19 across B.C., and 145,594 people who tested positive have recovered. Among the active cases, 73 people are currently in hospital and 19 are in intensive care.
By Health Authority, IH has the second most active cases in B.C. with 181. Vancouver Coastal has the most with 248 active cases, followed by 170 in Fraser Health, 30 in Northern Health, 21 in Island Health after the IH case counts. Tehre are also 11 cases amongst people who reside outside of Canada.
No new deaths were reported in the last 24 hours
As for the vaccination rollout, more than 78 per cent of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 41 per cent have received their second dose, as of July 9.
