B.C. health officials are reporting 564 new cases of COVID-19 and 15 further deaths due to the disease.
Of those new cases, 96 are in the Interior Health region, continuing the trend of high daily new case counts in the region.
Two of the deaths reported Thursday occurred in the Interior: one at the Noric House long-term care home outbreak in Vernon and one person in the community or in hospital. A total of 57 Interior residents have died due to COVID-19 to date.
The province now has 4,450 active cases with 309 in hospital and 68 of those patients in critical care.
Elsewhere in the province, there have been 111 new cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 234 in Fraser Health, 47 in Vancouver Island Health, 76 in Northern Health and one new case in a person who resides outside Canada.
Of the province's 62,976 total cases since the pandemic began, 56,010 have recovered and 1,119 have died.
On the vaccine front, 104,901 doses of either the Pfizer of Moderna vaccine have now been adminstered in the province. Of those, 1,680 were given as second doses.
On Wednesday, the BC Centre for Disease Control reported the province had received a total of 141,200 doses of approved vaccine.
