Province reports 59 cases of COVID-19, no further deaths over past 24 hours

Interior Health accounts for 17 of the new cases

B.C. has another 59 cases of COVID-19, including 17 in Interior Health.

Elsewhere, there were 20 new cases in Fraser Health, 13 in Vancouver Coastal Health, two in Northern Health, three in Island Health and four in non-residents of Canada.

B.C. now has 624 active cases, including 163 in Interior Health. Vancouver Coastal Health has the most active cases with 230. The lowest number of active cases in the province is in the Island Health region, with 11.

There are currently 86 people in hospital, with 20 of those patients in critical care.

The province has now vaccinated 3.63 million people with a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 1.77 million people have received two doses. This represents 78.2 per cent first-dose coverage and 38.2 per cent two-dose coverage for everyone age 12 and older.
