Province reports 59 new cases of COVID-19, one new death in Interior Health

The provincial government has reported 59 new cases of COVID-19 and one further death, in the Interior Health region, over the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 19 occurred in the Interior Health region, which now has 175 active cases, tied for second most in the province behind Vancouver Coastal, which has 236.

Elsewhere, there were 21 new cases in Fraser Health, 10 in Vancouver Coastal Health, two in Northern Health and seven in Island Health.

The province has 649 active cases in total, with 74 in hospital and 19 of those patients in critical care units.

A total of 78.4 per cent of all British Columbians age 12 and older have now received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. For two doses, that rate is 40 per cent as of Thursday. By the raw numbers, that's 3,635,811 first doses and 1,854,387 second doses.
