Report of Mac Isle smoke leaves curlers out in the cold

Kamloops Fire Rescue was called to the McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday morning following reports of smoke coming from the roof.

When crews arrived, they saw no smoke, but did find people — curlers, hockey players and spectators alike — sent out in the cold by the building's fire alarm while fire crews investigated.

KFR crews left the scene at about 11:45 a.m.
