Emergency crews have been dispatched to an accident on Highway 1 near Orchards Walk, which has closed eastbound lanes leaving Kamloops as of 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 15.
The crash occurred at about 10:10 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the highway, near Grand Boulevard.
It has been lightly snowing in Kamloops all morning.
Kamloops RCMP Const. Crystal Evelyn said crews are on site and assessing the situation, noting, as of 10:30 a.m., injuries and number of people and vehicles involved are as yet unknown.
About an hour before the accident in Valleyview, there was a call for a crash on the same highway, farther west near Aberdeen Mall. A vehicle had left the highway and rolled down an embankment. There has been no word on the extent of injuries suffered in that crash.
