Sparks Lake evacuation orders expanded to two more properties

The Thompson-Nicola Regional District has expanded evacuation orders for the Sparks Lake wildfire, adding two more properties south of Bonaparte Lake.

The two properties are located at 4010 and 4360 Jamieson-Spruce Grove FSR, in addition to any other properties within the map area provided by the TNRD. The area includes all of Bonaparte Park, as well, and adds to evacuation orders to the south and west of the lake.

An evacuation alert also remains for the area north of the lake.

At last estimate, the Sparks Lake fire has burned approximately 47,700 hectares.

The sizable wildfire has led to the evacuation of hundreds of properties, with many more on alert in all directions.
