Stolen property, weapons seized in Brocklehurst

Police responded Thursday to report of man with weapon

Kamloops Mounties seized weapons, drugs and stolen property after arresting a man reportedly wielding a Taser baton while he was walking along the 1800 block of Tranquille Road, near the corner with Holt Street.

Officers responded to the Brocklehurst street at about 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, having received a call that a man had activated the stun baton.

“A description of the man was provided and officers located and arrested him nearby,” Const. Crystal Evelyn said in a press release.

A Taser baton, knives, drugs, drug paraphernalia and stolen property were seized in the process of the investigation, which kept officers busy until at least 11 a.m.

Police located all the items on his person.

The man was released from police custody with conditions and a date to appear in court.
