Sun Peaks' $4-million chairlift to open on Christmas Eve day

The four-passenger, fixed-grip Orient chairlift is located in the east village area of the resort

A new, $4-million chairlift will open at Sun Peaks Resort on Monday, Dec. 24.

The Orient chairlift is located in the east village area of the resort. The four-passenger, fixed-grip chairlift built by Doppelmayr will provide improved skier access to the main village core as well as existing ski terrain. Construction began this past summer.

The chairlift will open daily at 8:30 a.m., with an official grand opening celebration planned for late January.
