A woman sustained life-threatening injuries and is now in hospital in critical condition after a mobile home caught fire early Monday morning.
Firefighters and police responded to the 800 block of Grant Road for the structure fire at about 3:30 a.m.
The house was fully engulfed in flames when Kamloops RCMP arrived and observed Kamloops Fire Rescue had removed a woman from the home.
The woman was taken to Royal Inland Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Officers on scene arrested two male youths who were in the area, but police have yet to determine if they were involved in setting the fire, Cpl. Jodi Shelkie stated in a press release.
Two trailers were damaged — one from which the fire began and the woman was rescued, and an adjacent trailer, KFR Fire Chief Mike Adams told KTW.
Fire investigators are at the scene and have yet to determine the cause and exact origin of the fire.
Adams said every fire is considered suspicous until investigators have had time to determine cause and origin.
He said KFR is consulting with the RCMP and expects to have more information by Tuesday morning.
Kamloops RCMP are asking anyone with information about this fire to contact them at 250- 828-3000 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
