Teen reports being robbed, beaten in Kamloops parking lot

The youth told police he was in the North Kamloops lot, looking to buy cigarettes from three men. Instead, the teen said, the trio stole his cash and cellphone and assaulted him.

Kamloops Mounties are seeking three suspects after a teenager reported being robbed and beaten in a North Kamloops parking lot on the weekend.

Const. Crystal Evelyn said the youth, who is in his late teens, told police he was in a parking lot in the 100-block of Yew Street — near where Yew connects with Tranquille Road — attempting to buy cigarettes from three men at just after 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 24.

The teen told police he was robbed of his cash and cellphone, adding he was also assaulted, possibly with a baton. The youth said the three men then ran away from the scene.

All three suspects are white. One is skinny, between 40 and 50 years of age, and wore dark clothing, a black hat and sunglasses. Another suspect is about 25 years old and has a buzz cut.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2021-13023.
