Ten further deaths due to COVID-19 as province reports another 516 new cases

The province has seen another 516 new cases of COVID-19 and 10 further deaths due to the disease over the past 24 hours.

There are now 227 people in hospital, with 57 of those in critical care. One person is in hospital in critical care in the Interior Health region.

With 7,122 active cases, a record high, the province has now seen 25,474 cases since the pandemic began. Of those, 17,477 have recovered and 331 have died.

Elsewhere in the province, there have been 148 new cases in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 294 in Fraser Health, 17 in Vancouver Island Health and 25 in Northern Health.

Another 10,002 people are under active public health monitoring due to exposure to confirmed cases.
