The latest B.C. COVID-19 numbers: 10,892 cases, 9,112 recovered, 250 deaths

Wednesday's COVID-19 update has revealed an additional 158 cases in B.C. over the past 24 hours.

There are now 1,496 active cases in the province, including 84 in hospital and 24 in critical care.

Three of the new cases announced Wednesday are in the Interior Health region, adding to the 23 new cases in the region since Friday, Oct. 9.

To date, there have been 3,941 cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 5,697 in Fraser Health, 237 in Vancouver Island Health, 585 in Interior Health, 343 in Northern Health and 89 among those who reside outside Canada.

The Interior Health region now has nine active cases. There are two people in hospital, with one of those in critical care.

In all, there have been 10,892 confirmed cases in B.C.

An additional 3,608 people are currently under active public health monitoring due to potential exposure.

COVID-19 has claimed 250 lives in the province, while 9,112 of those infected have so far recovered.
