The latest B.C. COVID-19 numbers: 2,562 cases, 2,170 recovered, 164 deaths

The Interior's newest case came on Thursday. Of the region's 195 confirmed cases, seven remain active, with one of those in hospital and the others recovering at home

B.C. health officials have announced four new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, among the lowest of the daily new case counts since the province began accumulating cases in early March.

In addition to the low new case count, there were also no new deaths reported Friday.

A total of 34 patients remain in hospital with the disease, with six of those in intensive care.

Of the province's now 2,562 cases, 900 have been in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 1,277 in Fraser Health, 127 in Vancouver Island Health, 195 in Interior Health and 63 in Northern Health.

A total of 164 people have died due to COVID-19 in B.C. while 2,170 have fully recovered.
