The latest B.C. COVID-19 numbers: 2,623 cases, 2,243 recovered, 166 deaths

Interior Health currently has zero active cases

Provincial health authorities have announced 22 new cases of COVID-19 and one death due to the disease in the past 24 hours.

There has now been 2,623 cases of COVID-19 in B.C., with 905 in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 1,332 in Fraser Health, 127 in Island Health and 64 in Northern Health.

Interior Health has had 195 cases in total, with zero active cases.

Elsewhere in the province, there are 32 in hospital, with seven of those in critical care.

A total of 2,243 people have now recovered since the pandemic first came to the province in January.

Two additional long-term care home outbreaks were declared over on Wednesday, at the Cottage-Worthington Pavilion and The Cedars in Mission. Six outbreaks remain at long-term care homes in the Lower Mainland.

A total of 166 people have died due to COVID-19 in B.C.
