The latest B.C. COVID-19 numbers: 2,790 cases, 2,444 recovered, 168 deaths

B.C. health officials have identified seven new cases of COVID-19 over the past 24 hours. None of the new cases are in the Interior Health region, which last saw a new case on Thursday, June 18.

No new deaths were announced Friday and the tally stands at 168 dead. Friday is the seventh straight day the province has gone without a death due to COVID-19.

Of the province's 178 active cases, 11 are in hospital and six are in critical care. A total of 2,444 have fully recovered.

By health region, there have been 952 cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 1,446 in Fraser Health, 130 in Vancouver Island Health, 197 in Interior Health and 65 in Northern Health. In all, the province has seen 2,790 cases of COVID-19.

Health officials did not announce any new community outbreaks or health-care facility outbreaks. There remain three outbreaks in communities and six in health-care facilities.
