B.C. health officials have announced an additional 23 cases of COVID-19 and one further death due to the disease in the province.
Among the new cases announced Tuesday are an additional five cases in the Interior Health region.
Of the province's 3,523 cases, there have been 1,067 in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 1,815 in Fraser Health, 143 in Vancouver Island Health, 358 in Interior Health, 80 in Northern Health and 60 among people who reside outside Canada.
The death announced Tuesday occurred in the Vancouver Coastal Health region.
No new community outbreaks or health-care facility outbreaks were announced on Tuesday.
The increase of five new cases in the Interior Health region is the lowest since July 24, and approximately half the daily average new cases for the region over the past two weeks.
There are now 253 active cases in the province, with 3,076 recovered and 194 total deaths since the pandemic arrived in B.C. in late January.
Nine people are now in hospital and three of those are in critical care.
