The latest B.C. COVID-19 numbers: 3,591 cases, 3,155 recovered, 194 deaths

B.C. has 29 new cases of COVID-19 over the past 24 hours. That figure includes four new cases in the Interior Health region.

No new deaths or outbreaks were announced Thursday.

By health authority, there have been 1,076 cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 1,865 in Fraser Health, 143 in Vancouver Island Health, 360 in Interior Health, 86 in Northern Health and 61 among those who reside outside Canada. In all, B.C. has had 3,591 cases since January.

To date, 194 have died from COVID-19 while 3,155 have fully recovered, leaving the province with 242 active cases. Five people are in hospital and two of those in critical care.

There remain two active health-care facility outbreaks — one in a long-term care facility and one in an acute care unit.

The Fraser Valley Packers Inc. outbreak has now produced 59 cases as public health investigators continue their work.

No further cases linked to the outbreak on Haida Gwaii were reported Thursday.
