The latest B.C. COVID-19 numbers: 3,641 cases, 3,168 recovered, 195 deaths

An additional 50 cases were reported on Friday, with nine of those in the Interior Health region

B.C. health officials have announced an additional 50 cases of COVID-19 and one death due to the disease. Of the new cases, nine are in the Interior Health region.

Nearly half of the new cases are in the Fraser Health region, with at least one linked to a new outbreak at the Dania Home care facility in Burnaby.

By health region, there have now been 1,088 cases in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 1,889 in Fraser Health, 144 in Vancouver Island Health, 369 in Interior Health, 88 in Northern Health and 63 among those who reside outside Canada.

Of the province's total 3,641 cases since the pandemic began, 3,168 have fully recovered, 195 have died and 278 cases remain active.

There are currently five people in hospital, with two of those in critical care units.
