B.C. health officials have announced an additional 132 cases of COVID-19, a figure among the highest single-day number of new cases announced since the pandemic began.
Among the new cases are three new cases in Interior Health.
By health region, there have now been 2,419 cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 3,600 in Fraser Health, 190 in Vancouver Island Health, 465 in Interior Health, 204 in Northern Health and 84 among those who reside outside Canada.
No new deaths were announced Friday.
In all, 213 have died in the province due to COVID-19, while 5,273 have recovered and 1,461 cases remain active.
There are currently 49 people in hospital, with 10 of those in critical care.
One new health-care facility outbreak was announced, at Evergreen Hamlets long-term care facility in Surrey. It is one of 14 active health-care facility outbreaks in the province — all are in the Fraser Health or Vancouver Coastal Health regions.
