The latest B.C. COVID-19 numbers: 9,841 cases, 8,184 recovered, 244 deaths

The province is reporting 102 new cases and two additional deaths due to COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases reported Tuesday, eight are in the Interior Health region. The region now has 25 active cases, with two of those in hospital.

The number of those in hospital remains relatively stable, with 71 in hospital on Tuesday and 16 of those patients in critical care.

The province now has 1,384 active cases and 3,089 people under active public health monitoring due to potential exposure.

With 8,184 now recovered and 244 dead, the province has seen 9,841 total confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

To date, there have been 3,612 cases in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 5,038 in Fraser Health, 221 in Vancouver Island Health, 556 in Interior Health, 324 in Northern Health and 90 among those who reside outside Canada.

No new health-care facility outbreaks or community outbreaks were reported Tuesday.
