The latest B.C. COVID-19 numbers: 9,956 cases, 8,296 recovered, 244 deaths

There have been 115 new cases of COVID-19 identified in B.C. over the past 24 hours.

Included in that figure is one new case in the Interior Health region, which now has 25 active cases, including one in hospital.

Elsewhere in the province, there are 70 in hospital, including 15 in critical care.

The province now has 1,387 active cases and another 3,042 people under active public health monitoring due to potential exposure.

To date, there have been 3,644 cases in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 5,119 in the Fraser Health region, 222 in Vancouver Island Health, 557 in Interior Health, 325 in Northern Health and 89 among those who reside outside Canada. In all, B.C. has seen 9,956 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

No new deaths were reported Wednesday. A total of 244 have died since the first confirmed case death on March 9.

No new community outbreaks or health-care facility outbreaks were reported.

To date, 8,296 people have recovered from COVID-19 in B.C.
