A severe thunderstorm watch issued earlier Saturday morning is now a thunderstorm warning.
The watch came from Environment Canada just after 10 a.m. Saturday morning and was upgraded to a warning Saturday afternoon.
Heavy rainfall is expected tonight and local rainfall amounts could reach 20 to 30 millimetres.
The upper level low pressure system will move into Alberta Sunday morning and drier conditions are expected to return to the region. The current forecast shows temperatures upwards of 30 C returning by Tuesday.
A special air quality statement is also in effect, as smoke from wildfires lingers in the region.
