Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau will make his third visit to Kamloops this year when he arrives in the city on Thursday to attend an event with Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo Liberal candidate Terry Lake.
Trudeau was in Kamloops in January and again in May to attend an event to mark Lake’s acclamation as Liberal candidate in the federal election.
On Wednesday, Trudeau visited Rideau Hall in Ottawa, where he asked Governor General Julie Payette to dissolve government, thereby officially starting the 41-day election campaign.
Trudeau and his federal Liberal campaign team then flew to British Columbia to begin campaigning, as he and his party did in the 2015 federal election.
On Thursday, Trudeau is scheduled to attend an event in Victoria at 8 a.m. and will attend a rally in Edmonton at 5:30 p.m. Between those two stops, the Liberal leader and his Team Trudeau plane will touch down in Kamloops, where Trudeau will meet with Lake and party supporters.
Trudeau will be flying in a new plane after his first Team Trudeau-emblazoned aircraft was damaged in Victoria after a media bus scraped a wing while being driven near the vehicle at Victoria Internaitonal Airport.
